Arabella's bedroom - 17 Jan 2011 |
Arabella's bedroom February 2011 |
January 24 the master bedroom with the strange wall and window bisecting it! Also note the lovely coloured walls and frieze which was never finished properly |
The wall starts to come down! |
Gone! Now to re-wire and re-plaster! |
The lovely built in wardrobe in the master bedroom. |
Gone and now re-plastered, re-wired (TV and electrical cable ran through the back of the cupboard) - awesome sized room now! |
Drying out the sitting room after the radiator 'O'-ring failed - at least we know what the O stands for now - O ****! |
The old leaking roof light we have removed |
24 March 2011 - The start of the doorway |
The acro props go in! |
The first steel goes in only two more to go |
Day Two - Second steel in amidst vast amounts of dust |
Day Two 25 March 2011- we are now the proud owners of 'a hole' in the wall |
The waste and rubble generated from removing the wall... Helen and Arabella looking at the mess... |
The 'good' stone which came out of the wall and which we will recycle....note the very large upright stone on the far right....this was used above the fireplace....and looks a little bit like a tomb stone....is there a message here...??? |
29 March 2011 - Sunny day the roof comes off! This is the same roof the roof-light was removed from. Close-up of the old felt - doesn't look too bad here. Work also started on the "office" - must take some photos! The wall section you can see at the back is the old chimney stack for the bread oven... |
The ugly flat roof section above the window and the un-felted area where the roof-light used to be. |
The gable end completely stripped. On top of the wall we found some old apothecary bottles and other glassware only two bottles were intact. |
The entire side now stripped. Andy the roofer admiring his work. The weather took a turn for the worse at this point! HEAVY RAIN! |
6 April 2011 - dormer built and slated, the roof is also starting to be slated. The other side has now been stripped. |
