The old roof is now removed and the main roof is stripped back with the new layboards and timber double pitched roof installed

Gable Stone Work

The stone mason lays out the stonework for the new gable on the kitchen - ready to be built

New Roof and Gable

The new roof, gable end and roof light all in - we also removed the large window and replaced it with French Doors and side windows

Diggers Start

July 2013 the digging starts to make way for the two two-storey extentions (one two stories above ground and one with one storey below ground)

Meat Cellar Removed

The Meat cellar collapses in so we decide to dig out the cellar and make a bigger basement.

Claus digging

Claus tries his hand at digging - the horrid concrete path running along the garden is broken up and ready to be removed.

Spoil

To save around £25k we decided to dump the spoil, from excavating the extension, around the garden to level it out (1000 tons of spoil were removed)

Old Back door looking up

View from the now dug out meat cellar looking up at the old back door - the block work below the door is the garage wall built in the 1960s early 1970s
